August 11 Ampney Crucis, Gloucestershire

First thing we had to stop at the River Usk before leaving town and leaving Wales.

You can't see the river but you get to see Norm's shadow

Interesting drive across the Severn Bridge from Wales to England.  Blue skies in Wales and then torrential rain in England for about 15 minutes. 

  

This morning we stopped in the tiny village of Castle Combe.  So pretty! Pictures just don't do it justice.

We walked around a little in Cirencester but really only saw the church before we were hit with a downpour and decided it was time to get to the hotel.  It has actually been intermittent showers all day.

Here we are in the Cotswolds staying in the tiny village of Ampney Crucis (population 600) in a hotel with an incredibly long name – The Crown of Crucis Country Inn and Hotel.  What a lovely spot!  We’ve decided to stay a couple of days.
