August 13 Oxford

Today it’s all about Blenheim Palace.   It is the only non-royal non-episcopal country house in England to hold the title of palace; it’s the birthplace of Winston Churchill and home to the dukes of Marlborough.

We’ve had a great walk to dinner in Oxford and have to say that the atmosphere here is quite a bit different in that it is relaxed and doesn’t feel full of tourists.  We are a couple of miles from downtown so that may change when we go exploring tomorrow.

Sending love R/P
