Drove through the middle of The Lakes District National Park which had
some spectacular scenery. We only found
one place to pull off the road so didn’t get photos of all the different
landscapes we encountered.
We did stop for a walk around in Keswick but as it was raining (not
hard by any means) we didn’t walk for too long.
Lots of people out and about in the rain so can’t imagine what it might
have been if it had been a sunny days.
We drove to Barrow-In-Furness and then TripAdvisor listed a hotel
called The Clarke’s in Rampside where we have stopped for the night. What a glorious place! We really lucked out as this is a really nice
hotel and restaurant. As Rampside is a
tiny place, The Clarke’s is the only non-residential place here. The bar and restaurant are full tonight and
we had our dinner in the restaurant downstairs.
The Clarke's Hotel across the street from Morecambe Bay
Our room is on the left with 3 windows on 2nd floor and looks directly down onto our rental car
Sending love R/P
Hopefully you are going to stop in Liverpool and Chester on your way south. Lots of family from the Liverpool area on our side - three generations removed. Book a Fab Four Taxi tour of the Beatle sights. A good three hour investment!!!!!
