Woke up in Erie PA. Miles of grapes growing.
Forgot to mention yesterday that Minnesota and Wisconsin have some major flooding going on. We've seen some flooding here in New York but only to a small degree.
Not sure what happened but the engineer who was supposed to take the train from Buffalo didn't show up for work so we had a bit of a delay until the found another engineer.
Following the Hudson river down into New York has been spectacular. Beautiful part of the country.
Good thing my hair is grey because it may have turned in the cab to the hotel - c-r-a-z-y taxi drivers!! We wandered outside for a short walk and picked up a curry chicken and rice dish from a street vendor. It was so excellent and incredibly cheap. At least it's warm and we should have a very nice day tomorrow even though they say it may rain a little.
We got in a couple of hours late and after 4 days on the train we are astonishingly excited about sleeping in a real bed.
Wanted to add this photo I took from the back of the train as we were going through North Dakota - speaks of "the road less traveled."
