We have definitely slowed down in the sense that we're not rushing anywhere.
It was already 10 before we finished breakfast. We went on our daily walk. On the ship, deck 7 has a promenade and three
times around is 1.1 miles. We only did 4
revolutions because the morning quiz was starting in the English pub. What a riot that was! We only observed, didn’t officially
participate, but it was so fun and reminiscent of the shows we like to watch
from BBC like Pointless or Would I Lie To You.
A bit more exploration of the ship and then, wouldn’t you know it – it
was time for lunch. We decided to go back to the British Pub for fish and chips
with mushy peas. We have been pleased
that the serving sizes are much more reasonable than they are at home. That means that we don’t walk away from a
meal stuffed to the gills.
After more exploration of the ship it was time to go through UK
Immigration and then on to the darts tournament.
A nap was definitely needed by then and since, it is formal night we
had to have some time to get dolled up for the evening. First, off to the show in the planetarium which had an interesting video narrated by Robert Redford.
The Auto Club gave us a gift certificate for La Piazza so we had the
most incredible Italian dinner ever.
Although you can't see it in this photo, we were right beside the ocean and had a lovely unobstructed view.
After
dinner we stopped at the Royal Court Theatre for Showtime: Worbey & Farrell. They are billed as internationally acclaimed concert
pianists with a wicked sense of humour.
We really enjoyed their show and will try to see them again our last
night at sea when they’ll have a totally different show.
Last stop of the evening was the Black & White Ball. This is obviously a very popular event as we
couldn’t find a spot to sit in and people were streaming in behind us. We watched the dancing for a while and
decided to call it quits. It has been so
nice tonight to see everyone dressed to the nines.
Sending love R/P
So pleased to hear of your adventures. Lurching from side to side with a martini in your hand is the only way to cross the Atlantic.
