We've started off in style! Thanks so much, Craig, for picking us up and taking us to the station.
Then what a wonderful surprise to have friends come to the station to see us off! What a hoot!
We lunched with a couple from Moscow which was really interesting. They didn't speak too much English but we had quite a conversation somehow anyway. They are doing quite a whirlwind tour of America. From Moscow to New York to Las Vegas to San Francisco to New York to Moscow. All in 17 days. Whew!
The walk to the dining car is 4 cars back and the train was going at a good clip so I felt it was a bit dicey for my foot. I certainly felt the pressure of having to balance in different ways. We decided we would have dinner delivered instead of going again and that was a good decision I think.
We spent the time before dinner listening to the Moth Radio Hour through my phone. So glad I decided to bring the Bluetooth speaker along.
