We woke up this morning in the Glacier Park Station with the Grand Tetons close by. We've been in this area a couple of times and have camped in Glacier National Park both times. It's an area we'll come back to I'm sure.
There was some kind of medical emergency on board this morning and an ambulance met us in Cutbank MT with lights and siren. Don't know if someone got off or not.
Pretty quiet day today but some interesting spots.
Shelby MT. One of 3 locations in the US which have antipode. Traveling from Shelby through the center of the earth, one would arrive in the Kerguelen Islands, a scientific outpost.
Havre MT. Built about 100 years ago...an underground mall. It has hosted a brothel, a laundromat, a saloon, at least 3 opium dens and rooms used for smuggling alcohol during prohibition. Today it's a tourist attraction.
Rugby ND. The geographical center of the North American continent.
Tonight it's listening to podcasts of This American Life.
Still keeping fingers crossed that we get into Chicago tomorrow before the 9:30 pm train for New York.
Haven't posted photos to the album because service is so intermittent but plan to do so in New York.
Sending love R/P
