July 16 Paris, France

So much for our plans to get on the hop-on hop-off bus.  We didn’t wake up until 10 am and then decided it just wasn’t worth the price and we would go off on our own.

We actually went back on the Metro and discovered all the lines were fine, it was only the #9 line where the driver went lickety split; we think because there is a greater distance between stops.  At any rate, it didn’t seem so bad today.

We walked and then we walked and then we walked some more; not an easy feat when it was stinking hot and muggy.  At any rate, we did see the Palais de Justice, Notre Dame, and La Place de Bastille.
 Palais de justice

Notre Dame

La Place de Bastille

We’ve noticed some differences here versus London.  There are very few tattoos, very few body piercings, no blue, green, pink, etc. hair color.  Here we see men in suit and ties, and women wearing suits or dresses.  Quite elegant.

Tomorrow we plan on visiting a couple of palaces and then we go back to London in the early evening.  The forecast is for very hot weather in England also .

Sending love R/P
