July 19 Hemingford Grey, Cambridgeshire

An unexciting day today.

It took us about 6 hours to get to Hemingford Grey (about 15 minutes from Cambridge).  It’s not that far from London but we stopped about 5 times.  Of course, we had to stop in Stratford Upon Avon to pick up our stuff (the guy said he couldn’t believe it when he looked in two drawers and they were full of clothes.)  Can’t believe we did that either; the clothes didn’t matter that much, but Norm’s cell phone was also in one of the drawers!

We did hit some rain a couple of times but not the storms we were being warned about.  By the time we got here, the sky had cleared and the heat came on big time, so we hid.

We hope to explore the river and area here before moving on to check out Cambridge tomorrow.

This is a lovely B&B that has quite an upscale restaurant next door called The Cock.  Some interesting menu options include rabbit, duck, ox and venison.

Looks like it's going to keel over - a private home in Hemingford Grey

Sending love R/P
